PERSONAL MUSIC HISTORY

• Began playing trombone in 7th grade and played in high school and college
• Have a Bachelor of Music in trombone performance from Stephen F. Austin State University
• During my career I laid my horn down for 30 years and even sold it
• When I retired from full time work I bought a new horn and started playing again.

BANDS/GROUPS I HAVE PLAYED OR AM PLAYING IN

• Nacogdoches High School Band
• Stephen F. Austin State University (marching, symphonic, and orchestra)
• Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary - Wind Ensemble
• Wilshire Winds of Dallas
• Frisco Community Band
• Irving Symphonic Band
• New Horizons Band Dallas

CAREER/RETIREMENT HIGHLIGHTS

• Retired Baptist minister/chaplain
• I was also a chaplain in the Army Reserves.
• Served 22 years with Federal Bureau of Prisons as a federal prison chaplain
• Throughout my active chaplain career I have been a professional chaplain serving in prison,
  hospital, hospice, mental health, and senior living facilities settings

FAMILY

• I’m single but have a cat, Buddy, that is the “king of the house”
• I count my dearest friends as family.

INTERESTS/HOBBIES

• Playing trombone
• Reading
• Travel
• Working out at the gym

OTHER

• Moved from my hometown, Nacogdoches, to Fort Worth for theological education.
• Fortunate to have served my entire career without having to move from Fort Worth.
• Have lived in Fort Worth 47 years.
